Stitchdown Construction

White's Stitchdown Construction provides a more secure fit and feel than a Goodyear Welted boot while requiring less production time than White's true handsewn stitchdown construction. The Helitack C904V is still hand-lasted and hand-bottomed, preserving important elements of White's traditional bootmaking process.

During construction, the liner of the stitchdown boot is glued to the bottom of the insole. The vamp is then turned outward, and the midsole and bottom are machine-stitched together through the vamp. Removing the hand-welting process significantly reduces production time, allowing White's to offer rugged and comfortable wildland boots without the higher cost associated with a truly handsewn boot.
